|Simplified MIPI (sMIPI)-Simplified prognostic index for advanced-stage mantle cell lymphoma|
|Points||Age, y||ECOG||LDHULN||WBC, 109/L|
|Risk category and prognosis|
|s-MIPI score||s-MIPI risk category||Median TTF (years)||5 year OS (%)|
|0 – 3||Low risk||6.3||81|
|4 or 5||Intermediate risk||3.8||63|
|6 or higher||High risk||1.4||35|
- NOTE > The Mantle Cell Lymphoma International Prognostic Index (MIPI) derives from multivariate analysis of survival of 455 patients with mantle cell lymphoma treated between 1996 and 2004 results of which were published in “A new prognostic index (MIPI) for patients with advanced-stage mantle cell lymphoma” – Blood 2008 111:558-565; (click here for original article). Patients were treated with chemotherapies including CHOP, R-CHOP and MCP.
- Note that Original MIPI score is calculated as MIPI score = [0.03535 × age (years)]× age (years)] + 0.6978 (if ECOG > 1) + [1.367 × log10(LDH/ULN)]+ [0.9393 × log10(WBC count)] which is quite cumbersome and hence simplified MIPI was developed as given above.
- The proliferation index (percentage of cells Ki67 positive) was of independent prognostic relevance, and is incorporated into the “combined biologic index”, or MIPIb.
